Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 30, 2026
This policy explains what information LeahFilips.com collects, why it is collected, who else can see it, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past. If anything here is unclear, email leah.filips@gmail.com and ask.
Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the website at leahfilips.com and its pages, including the consultation request form. It is operated by Leah Filips, an independent consultant based in the United States.
It does not cover other websites you may reach from links here — including LinkedIn, Substack, Google Scholar, or leahfilips.org — each of which has its own privacy practices.
What information is collected
Information you provide directly
When you submit the consultation request form, you choose to provide:
- First and last name — required, so replies can be addressed to you.
- Email address — required, as the means of replying.
- Organization or project name — optional.
- Type of work, project description, and ideal timeline — required, to assess fit and prepare a useful response.
If you email or call directly, whatever you include in that message is collected in the same way any ordinary correspondence is.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this one records basic technical information when you visit: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, referring website, device and browser type, and how long you stayed. This is collected through Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager and is used in aggregate to understand which pages are useful.
Clicks on the "Call Now" telephone links and submissions of the consultation form are recorded as analytics events. These record that the action happened — not the content of any call.
What is not collected
- No payment card, bank, or financial account information is collected through this site.
- No government identification numbers are requested.
- No account is created, and no password is stored.
- Personal information is not purchased from or appended by data brokers.
How the information is used
Information collected through this site is used only to:
- Respond to your inquiry and arrange a scoping conversation.
- Assess whether a project is a good fit before proposing scope or terms.
- Carry out an engagement, if one follows from your inquiry.
- Understand aggregate website performance and improve the site's content.
- Meet legal, tax, or accounting obligations where applicable.
Your information is never sold, rented, or traded. It is not added to a marketing list, and you will not receive newsletters or promotional email as a result of contacting this site. Replies relate to the inquiry you sent.
Third-party services
This site relies on a small number of outside services. Each receives only the data needed to perform its function, and each maintains its own privacy policy governing that data.
| Service | Purpose | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Formspree | Delivers consultation form submissions by email | Everything you enter into the form |
| Google Analytics | Aggregate website traffic measurement | Usage data, device and browser details, IP-derived approximate location |
| Google Tag Manager | Manages the analytics tags above | Page and event data passed to analytics |
| Google Fonts | Serves the site typeface | Your IP address, as part of the font request |
| Website host | Serves the site's pages | Standard server access logs |
Information may also be disclosed if required by law, court order, or valid legal process, or where necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
Cookies and similar technologies
This site does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies of its own. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies to distinguish one visitor from another and to measure sessions.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using Google's browser opt-out add-on. Blocking these cookies will not prevent you from using any part of this site.
Browser "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals are honored where technically supported by the services listed above.
How long information is kept
- Consultation inquiries — kept for up to two years, so that earlier conversations can be picked back up, then deleted.
- Engagement records — where a project proceeds, records are kept as long as needed for the work and for tax and accounting purposes, typically seven years.
- Analytics data — retained according to Google Analytics settings, currently a maximum of fourteen months.
You may request earlier deletion at any time using the contact details below.
How information is protected
This site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and form submissions are transmitted encrypted. Inquiries are received in a password-protected email account. Access is limited to Leah Filips and, where a project requires it, to named collaborators bound by confidentiality.
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and no absolute guarantee can be given. Please do not send confidential or commercially sensitive material through the web form — a confidentiality agreement can be arranged first, on request.
Your rights and choices
Regardless of where you live, you may ask to:
- Access the personal information held about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date.
- Delete your information, subject to any legal retention obligations.
- Receive a copy of the information you provided, in a portable format.
- Withdraw from further contact at any time.
California residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, California residents have the rights listed above, plus the right to know what categories of personal information have been collected and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
This site does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and it does not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those a consumer would reasonably expect.
Residents of the EEA and United Kingdom
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, the lawful bases for processing are your consent (given when you submit the form) and legitimate interests in responding to inquiries and maintaining the website. You also have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, and to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email leah.filips@gmail.com with the request. A response will be provided within 45 days. Verification of identity may be requested before information is released or deleted.
Children's privacy
This site offers professional consulting services and is not directed at children under 16. Personal information is not knowingly collected from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, please make contact and it will be deleted.
Links to other sites
Pages here link to external sites including LinkedIn, Substack, and Google Scholar. Following those links takes you outside this site, and this policy no longer applies. Review the privacy policy of any site before providing information to it.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as services or legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes affecting how information already collected is used will be communicated directly to affected individuals where contact details are available.
